Today you will begin with a visit to Nazareth to reflect on the Basilica of the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus (Luke 1:26-38). Then, you will travel to the Sea of Galilee to visit sacred sites such as Capernaum, where Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law (Matthew 8:14-17); Tabgha, site of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes (Mark 6:41); and the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12). In the afternoon, you will visit Mount Zion, where you will see the Cenacle (Luke 22:14-20), site of the Last Supper, and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, which commemorates Peter’s denial of Jesus (Luke 22:61-62). The day begins at the Mount of Olives, where you’ll visit the Chapel of the Ascension, which marks the spot where Jesus ascended into Heaven (Acts 1:9-12). You’ll also see the Church of the Pater Noster, where Jesus taught his disciples the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), and Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44). Continue your tour to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed in agony before his arrest (Matthew 26:36-46), and visit the Church of the Agony. In Bethany, you’ll visit the Tomb of Lazarus, where Jesus raised him from the dead (John 11:43-44), and the Church of St. Lazarus.
